Subserosal Fibroids Subserosal fibroids grow just under the outer layer of the uterus. They often cause chronic pelvic pain, frequent urination, and lower back or leg pain. They are not usually associated with excessive bleeding.
Intramural Fibroids Intramural fibroids are found within the central muscular wall of the uterus. These are the most common fibroids and are associated with chronic pelvic pain and heavy menstrual bleeding.
Submucosal Fibroids Submucosal fibroids occur in the inner lining of the uterus. They are the least common type of fibroid. These fibroids are often associated with excessive menstrual bleeding, occasionally bleeding between menstruations, and cramps.
